In his seminal treatise on the media, Marshall McLuhan (1964, 23) asserted that “The medium is the message.”  That is to say, “the personal and social consequences of any medium – that is, of any extension of ourselves – result from the new scale that is introduced into our affairs by each extension of ourselves, or by any new technology.”  We have at hand a new technology and a new medium – video games.  The presence of video games in media consumption could have hardly missed anyone’s attention.  As we move into the second decade of the 21^st century, video games have become one of the major media we interact with during the course of a day. Traditional forms, as Film, TV, newspapers still play a major role, but it is video games that have attracted interest.
